Interior Design Firm Procurement and Project Manager - The Renner Project
About
Design industry veteran Kimberly Renner owns and operates The Renner Project - the curated European mid-century and_antique retail establishment _ in Austin, Texas - and under the same name, the interior design firm serving residential and commercial clients from pre-construction through furnishings.
Intentionally focused on comprehensive _breadth_ and artistry in each interior design project, this boutique studio works with an exclusive number of design clients delivering highly customized, one-of-a-kind properties.
Description
General responsibilities Include:
- Ensure a personal, friendly experience for all who interact with the firm (e.g. clients, prospects, vendors, contractors)
- Ensure crisp office organization and operational flow, via both established policies and your own problemsolving skills
- Communicate clearly and often with staff, suppliers, and clients
- Organize work priorities and manage all expenses accordingly
- Competence to work with technology and software
- Report to and work closely with Principal, Designers, and store team to ensure topnotch client experiences and satisfaction, as well as smooth office operations
Operational responsibilities include:
- Prepare proposals including quotes, lead times, and shipping
- Own all procurement and purchasing
- Own all shipping, storage and receiving
- Manage invoices from vendors
- Coordinate and send all client invoices for monthly consulting and product purchases
- Document all expenses and interface with external bookkeeper
- General bookkeeping experience to handle Accounts Receivables (Invoicing), help with Accounts Payables, and interface with our external bookkeeping and tax team
- Track orders including lead times and changes, ETAs, and coordination of freight
- Receive product and sample shipments at TRP; communicate status to the design team
- Maintain all files both physically and electronically (DropBox files)
- Set up and maintain all design spreadsheets
- Set up and manage trade accounts, meet with product reps, and maintain sample library
- Manage and update vendor contacts
- Manage logistics for all project installations coordinating all installers, workrooms, and moving teams
- Identify ways to create efficiencies in workflow and processes
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years' applicable design industry experience
- Three dimensional thinker capable of visualizing design projects
- Multitasker, capable of managing multiple projects at once
- To become proficient in Ivy training available
- To become proficient in Harvest training available
- Basic knowledge of Quickbooks a plus
- Proficiency with Mac and Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel and Word
- Experience in interior design purchasing a plus
- Experience with interior design workrooms for drapery, upholstery and custom fabrication a plus
- Graphic design skills a plus
- Parttime availability (i.e. 103:00 M-F) but with flexibility for some full days (8:305:30) during installations and project heavy schedules
- Must have personal transportation and be able to lift 40lbs and loading furniture and materials as needed)
- Presents oneself professionally and is prompt
- Note: Current project manager is relocating but will be available via Zoom for onboarding.
