• Plans and manages plant quality assurance programs.
• Researches and evaluates "stateoftheart" quality control equipment and technology.
• Designs and implements quality specifications and standards that are aligned with company standards.
• Develops and maintains a food security strategy including methods of monitoring for security breaches.
• Develops and implements foreign material control processes and procedures. Identify process improvement initiatives and define standards for new processes.
• Manages and maintains comprehensive Quality Assurance documentation, including supplier specifications, company material specifications, quality assurance policies and procedures, customer requirement reports, stock recovery, and inplant reports.
• Records and distributes all laboratory test results in a timely and accurate manner, including supplier and customer generated data.
• Develops and implements statistical process control programs.
• Coordinate training programs with other departments for all employees concerning product quality, customer satisfaction and food safety.
• Manages relationships with appropriate health department personnel.
• Performs necessary laboratory tests on an ongoing, as needed basis.
• Maintains regular communication with Operations and others, as relevant, concerning any customer and/or quality issues on an ongoing basis.
• Coordinates with supervisors and key team members to ensure quality standards are met.
• Trains supervisors in proper product hold and release procedures.

• Responsible for Quality and Food Safety functions as assigned and outlined in Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program, supplier qualification, and food defense.
• Responsible for reporting all quality and food safety concerns/issues to QA.

• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in QA/QC management in a food manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of GMPs, Sanitation and Pest Control principles
• Familiarity with SQF
• SQF practitioner certification
• Familiarity with Google Docs
• Familiarity with ZOHO CRM
• Knowledge of test procedures gained from hands on experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills to nurture and maintain internal and external relationships
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Sense of urgency and ownership regarding role and the needs of the department
• Ability to meet deadlines and complete daily activities
• Team player
