Job Summary
The Department of Social Sciences at the University of Texas at Tyler incorporates Anthropology, Criminal Justice, Economics, Geography, Social Work, Sociology and Public Administration and seeks a non-tenure track Lecturer to begin August 15, 2024. Faculty members at UT Tyler are expected to be outstanding teachers and scholars who demonstrate a commitment to service to the community and university. Priority will be given to candidates who demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate education and who enthusiastically support the university's strategic plan.
Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
Essential Functions
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Teach four (4) in person courses in Criminal Justice per semester.
Supervision of undergraduate students.
Service to the university and local community.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in criminal justice from an accredited University.
Evidence of teaching or similar experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently.
Skills and confidence with technology.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Criminal Justice.
Previous professional experience in the field of Criminal Justice.
Ability to teach across multiple disciplines.
Experience in undergraduate university teaching.
Bilingual.
Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
Academic experience with skills and experience in instructional design and course development to include online teaching.
Ability to develop and maintain effective and constructive collaborative relationships with faculty and administration throughout the university.
Record of professional activities related to Criminal Justice practice and education.
