Bachelor's Degree or 3+ years related experience in hospitality, fundraising, or marketing; strong speaking and writing skills; ability to work effectively as part of a team; ability to manage multiple priorities and be detail oriented.

Regional and local travel, as needed. Valid New York State driver's license. Experience with development software, including Raiser's Edge, preferred.

This position works in a typical office setting but may be exposed to extreme temperatures in a warehouse setting.

There may be extended periods of sitting, standing and/or bending, listening, talking and/or visual concentration, writing and/or computer use.

This position would normally have routine opportunities for the employee to be able to alter their physical position or change eye focus.


Lifting should not normally exceed 30 pounds:

Coordinate, plan, and implement special events:
a. Develop new special events or modify existing events to meet fundraising needs of Regional Food Bank.

b. Take steps to ensure long-term success of each fundraising event.

c. Work directly with event committee members to assist in obtaining sponsorships, auction donations and generate additional revenue.

d. Identify and train committee members for special events.

e. Recruit and train volunteers for events as needed.

f. Pursue in-kind support for events to maximize net proceeds.

g. Monitor and control event expenses.

h. Coordinate event publicity with Advancement and Marketing teams.

i. Ensure donor and/or participant recognition and acknowledgement.

j. Evaluate events and prepare reports summarizing event activities to provide recommendations for the future.


  • Solicit funding, in-kind support, and volunteers from business and community groups on an ongoing basis.
a. Provide excellent customer service to colleagues and donors.

b. Respond to inquiries and gift questions with a positimmve, donor-centered attitude.

c.

Attend networking events on behalf of the Food Bank to increase professional network, refine relationship management skills, and enhance outreach and capacity.


  • Assist Advancement team with accurate and timely processing of donations and acknowledgments.
  • Assist with the cultivation of current and potential donors.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • Follow all safety standards and procedures.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with other departments and employees in support of the mission of the Food Bank.
  • Adhere to the Food Bank's Employee Code of Conduct.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
