Job Details:


The program will run from June 1- August 02, 2024, _(Programming will not run on June 19 and July - 4, 2024).

Program hours will be 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Important Information:


  • Staff must be available for all 7 weeks of programming.
  • Program runs 8:00 AM 6:00 PM, staff must be available to work AM (7:30 AM 1:00 PM)
OR PM (12:00 PM - 6:00 PM).

  • The pay rate is $20.00 Per hour, staff will work a max of 29 hours per week.
  • This is a parttime temporary position

Responsibilities:


  • Leads activities such as arts, crafts, sports, and games.
  • Ensure student safety by assisting in set up, break down, and ongoing maintenance to keep the school or community site clean and orderly.
  • Supervises students and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general wellbeing.
  • Maintain student safety by taking roll and reviewing signin/ signouts for students and volunteers.
  • Organizes and leads various small and large group activities.
  • Identify student needs and communicate with the Site Coordinator, teachers, school administration, parents, and volunteers.
  • Participate in staff development activities.
  • Completion of program paperwork daily
  • Must be punctual
  • Must be flexible in covering other programs or events when needed most, follow protocols and procedures presented to them at staff meetings

Qualifications & Skills:


  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED and at minimum one of the following: An Associate Degree from a recognized college or university; or Completed 12semester units from a recognized college or university;
  • 2 years experience working in youthcentered programs and/or communitybased organizations
  • 2 years experience teaching, leading, and/or supporting students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • 1 year's experience working with K 5 students.
  • Communicate with students to ensure understanding and participation
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good communication skills
  • High Energy, Flexible, adaptable, team player, Selfstarter
  • A valid California driver's license Live Scan and Tuberculosis Test
  • Great communication skills with both students and staff members
  • Open for opportunities for growth

Other Skills and Abilities:
Must have previous experience working with middle or high school students. Ability to think innovatively and incorporate feedback into the development process. Ability to process and communicate information at both a macro and micro level. Some evenings and weekends will be required. Bilingual (English/ Spanish) is a plus. Must be high energy, adaptable, and flourish in a team environment.


Other Qualifications:

Although the employee will be assigned to a specific school site location, if EduCare's needs change, the employee may be re-assigned to another school site location.

Must be willing and able to travel to multiple locations throughout the Los Angeles area for trainings, meetings, etc. on an as needed basis. Must successfully complete the Live Scan background check prior to beginning employment. Must present proof of negative Tuberculosis sk
