- Develop and maintain:
- Processes and procedures related to machine calibrations. This would include facilitating laser caustics, scan field alignment, and laser power.
- Calibrations for print simulation software ensuring all materials, and parameter variables have accurate results related to stress, deformation, and print failure.
- Tools to support the broad organization such as build time calculations, Additive feasibility AI, and design guides and rules for parametric modeling.
- Lead quality and metrology processes and procedures. This will involve collaboration with design team members on component inspection plans and quality expectations.
- Create and maintain global standards for calibration, operation, and machine settings between R&D and Production to ensure global alignment and repeatability.
- Collaborate with opportunities for component print efficiency. This would encompass processing parameter, design optimization, and layer thickness schemes.
- Back-up machine technician with machine loading/ unloading, and post processing activities such as heat-treatment, bandsaw, support removal, and media blasting.
- Engage with external committees for Additive Manufacturing Adaption.
- Constant review for Additive Technology breakthroughs within the broad industry to ensure that the program is current on capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering

Emerson is currently seeking an Additive Manufacturing Engineer to work in our state-of-the-art facility in Marshalltown, IA. The individual selected for this position will be responsible for Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) technology capabilities, efficiency, and quality. This role will also involve facilitating global alignment between R&D and Production.
