Great role for an employment attorney with 3+ years of experience who would like to join a global Technology company as an Employment Counsel with a global remit.

Hi there this is Mila Read from Found Legal where we specialise in in-house lawyer recruitment for tech companies.

Our client is a the GC of a global IT company looking to hire their first in-house employment attorney.

What to expect:

— An international role working for a global company

— Be part of a close knit international team with US based GC

— Fabulous GC, both as a person and a legal professional

— No micromanagement

— Hybrid working (2-3 days on site, 2-3 days at home)

— Flexibility and excellent work life balance

— Budget for further professional training

— Development: if you are interested in broadening your specialism from employment to a generalist, you will be supported in this by the GC (although there is no expectations)

— Competitive package ca. $135K-$145K base + 10% Bonus + training budget, benefits etc

Responsibilities:

— Provide legal counsel and strategic advice to HR business partners and corporate leadership on complex employment and labor law issues

— Direct and conduct investigations into claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, policy violations, whistleblower complaints and other employee grievances or misconduct issues

— Oversee compliance with federal, state, and international labor and employment laws and regulations

— Draft, review and negotiate employment agreements, separation agreements, releases, policies and handbooks.

— Manage the employment litigation portfolio and oversee outside counsel

— Provide training to HR and management on labor/employment best practices, legal compliance and risk mitigation.

Requirements:

— Must have: at least 3+ years of experience as an employment attorney

— Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and membership in at least one U.S. state bar

— If you have worked for an IT company this would be an advantage (although this is not mandatory; the GC is open to experience in other sectors and it's a good opportunity to transition into the tech sector if you are interested)

— If you have exposure to California employment matters it would be beneficial (although not mandatory)
