- Engage with all three business divisions of investment consulting firms: executive management, research and field consultants to retain current commitments/assets and win additional commitments/assets.
- Responsible for building strategic relationships with the investment consultant community by enhancing the HarbourVest brand, market and positioning.
- Build and maintain active relationships with multiple investment strategy research analysts/consultants and field consultants.
- Develop and implement strategic business plans to identify asset growth opportunities, maintain strong ratings for existing client exposure, and increase exposure/approval ratings for institutional investment strategies across the HarbourVest platform.
- Collaborate with the Institutional Investor Relations team to ensure effective and cohesive communication with the institutional investment consultant community.
- Plan and prioritize investment professional/product specialist roadshows based on consultant demand and product relevance/readiness.
- Serve as central contact and coordinator for all assigned consultant-led requests-for-proposals and other related sales opportunities and requests.
- Communicate opportunities and provide input and feedback from the consulting firms to HarbourVest Investor Relations, Product Development, and Management teams to enhance existing strategies, help ensure relevant and timely product development and keep informed on industry trends and consultant activity.
- Complete meeting agendas, pre-meeting notes and call reports in a timely manner and ensure adequate metrics reporting is submitted and tracked timely.
- And other responsibilities as required.
- Direct experience managing institutional consultant relationships across North America.
- Proven track record of forming relationships with both research and field consultants, achieving and maintaining ratings, and supporting overall capital raising efforts related to investment consultants.
- Proven success in working effectively both internally and externally as it relates to consultant relationship management.
- Bachelor of Science (B.S) or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of institutional consultant relations experience within the asset management industry with a preference for private markets experience.

This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 3 days minimum per week in the office.
The Principal, Consultant Relations will be responsible for supporting the growth of relationships for investment consulting firms within North America across each of the consultant firm's three key business divisions: executive management, research and field consultants. The successful candidate will partner with the Consultant Relations team to build strong relationships with consulting firms as well as internal business partners, including investor relations, investment professionals, product specialists, marketing and product management. In addition to the core focus on attaining and maintaining strategy ratings across HarbourVest Partners solutions, the successful candidate will also be challenged to provide timely industry related insights on key trends developing in the marketplace, including search and product development trends. This individual will report to the Head of Consultant Relations for North America.
