Job Description: Seeking a Senior Electrical Wiring Design Engineer responsible for developing electrical wiring systems within a nuclear power plant.
LOCATIONS (Hybrid in any of these cities): Chicago IL, Warrenville IL, Wilmington DE, Richland WA, Glendale AZ, Chattanooga TN
Responsibilities:
• Interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and requirements to create detailed wiring diagrams, schematics, and layouts.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, I&C Engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical designs into the overall plant design and configuration.
• Perform design reviews, analysis, and verification tests to ensure the integrity, functionality, and safety of electrical wiring systems.
• Select appropriate wiring components, materials, and routing methods based on project requirements, technical specifications, and industry best practices.
• Participate in design change reviews, risk assessments, and regulatory inspections as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of electrical designs, changes, and updates following plant procedures and quality assurance requirements.
Requirements:
• A BS or MS in an Engineering Discipline from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program with coursework in instrumentation, mechatronics, and process controls design engineering is required.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in design engineering for wiring electrical systems; Experience in design engineering for nuclear power plant electrical systems is preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, or MicroStation) for creating electrical drawings and schematics.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, wiring standards (e.g., IEEE, ANSI), and nuclear safety regulations (e.g., NRC regulations, ASME codes).
• Experience with electrical testing, verification, and validation methods, including insulation resistance testing, continuity testing, and voltage drop analysis.
MUST HAVES:
1. Wiring Design Experience.
2. CAD software/ MicroStation Experience.
3. Relay Experience.
