We are looking to fill an immediate position for a Warehouse Worker to primarily manage the shipping and receiving solar panel from our customers.

We are looking for a team player with a positive attitude who is interested in growing their knowledge and takes pride in their output.

The ability to consciously improve daily processes and effectiveness is a must. Resourcefulness and the ability to take direction and work with and without direct supervision is key.


Shipping & Receiving Specialist - Job Duties

Shipping:


  • Proactively work with Project Managers, Managers/Operations to prepare and ship out completed projects and internal project shipments.
  • Examine shipment contents and compare them with records to verify accuracy.
  • Pack, seal, label, and prepare materials for shipping using hand tools and power tools. This could include building a crate for shipping.
  • Communicate with logistics companies to schedule shipments and to rectify any problems on received shipments.
  • Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.

Receiving:


  • Unloading trucks and to check in shipments (solar panels, components, etc.)
  • Open crates, unpack pallets, and other containers—Record shipment data, such as weight, and examine for damages or discrepancies.
  • Deliver or route materials to departments using a hand truck.

Daily Work Activities:

Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment including but not limited to:

  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and all work areas.
  • Organize pallets and crates and dispose of them when they are unusable.

Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work — Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.

Documenting/Recording Information — Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.

Handling and Moving Objects — Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.

Performing General Physical Activities — Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment — Running, maneuvering, or navigating, mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, scissor lift, pallet jack. (safety checks and maintenance)

  • Support Operations Dept. as needed.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
-
High School Graduate - Some college preferred.
-
2+ years' experience in a full-time position doing similar work activities.

Heavy lifting:


  • Lifting and handling solar modules up to 50 lbs
  • Lifting and handling solar modules with help.
  • Modules from and up approximately 4' wide, 7' tall and weigh lbs.

Administrative — Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Shipping and Receiving Software, etc.

Pay:
$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
