Under the general supervision of the Health Information Management (HIM), Health Record Technician II (Supervisor), in the California Men's Colony, Unlicensed Mental Health Crisis Beds, the Office Assistant (OA) (Typing) sorts, indexes, scans, uploads, and performs a quality assessment of health information documents prior to scanning into the Electronic Unit Health Record (eUHR). In addition the OA sorts, files, repairs, and maintains the appearance of Unit Health Records (UHRs) for assigned Terminal Digits (TDs) and performs other clerical duties. This position requires independence, initiative, and good judgment in performing assigned tasks. The Office Assistant also performs general office duties such as answering phones, distributing HIM mail, filing, and copying.

Requirements (minimum qualifications):
EITHER I
One year of experience in California state service performing the duties of an Assistant Clerk.
OR II
Education: Either equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade, or completion of a business school curriculum, or completion of a clerical work experience training program such as those offered through the Welfare Reform Act. (One year of clerical work experience may be substituted for the required education.)

Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
