_TOPS-The Orinda Preschool, is a play-based, experiential learning-focused private preschool with developmentally-appropriate curriculum for ages 2-5. We are currently hiring for the 24-25 which begins August 5, 2024.
We are looking for a 2s/3s preschool teacher who thrives in a team teaching environment based on respect and constructive communication.
_PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensuring a varied, stimulating, and age-appropriate curriculum is available each day. The curriculum should promote learning through play, foster a positive learning experience, and accommodate all children.
Monitoring/assessing and documenting the progress and development of students.
Promoting and supervising the interactions and play of students in a nurturing and safe environment.
Communicating with other teachers, the Director, as well as the TOPS Board
Fulfilling administrative requirements.
Understand and complying with policy requirements as stated in TOPS' By-Laws, Personnel Handbook, and Parent Handbook.
EDUCATION AND LICENSE (S):
TOPS teachers must meet minimum state requirements for teaching preschool and accreditation guidelines of NAEYC; and have earned a minimum of 12 ECE credits.
BS or BA in ECE or elementary education and a California Child Center Permit (Administration Course in ECE) is preferred.
In addition, a teacher must pass a criminal background check.
Maintain current TB test results, vaccination verification of measles, pertussis, yearly flu vaccine verification/declination and state licensing health and safety requirements - including CPR and first aid training.
REGULAR AND ADDITIONAL HOURS:
The TOPS school year runs August through May. During the 10 month school year, 2s/3s teachers generally maintain a Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. schedule, which includes hours daily for classroom preparation and clean-up, curriculum development, and teacher admin time. An additional hour is provided weekly for staff meeting.
