- Assisting in the OR during operative procedures in accordance with AORN Standards and department policies and procedures
- Arranging and inventorying sterile set-up; passing sterile items to the surgeon, assisting in the preparation and movement of patients, and in the clean-up of the operating room
- Delivery of quality surgical nursing care to the adult, adolescent, pediatric, and geriatric surgical patient utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation)
- Providing surgical nursing support for a variety major and minor surgical cases
- Delivery of quality surgical nursing care to the adult, adolescent, pediatric, and geriatric surgical patient utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation)
- Comprehensive care of the surgical patient during the pre-op, intra-op and immediate post-operative course for the patient
- Supervising, directing and coordinating the activities of surgical nursing team members in the absence of the Surgery Supervisor
- Delegating care based on the abilities and limitations of care personnel and patient acuity
- Providing surgical nursing support for a variety major and minor surgical cases
- Delivering care through the use of the nursing process.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) License by the Minnesota State Board of Nursing
- BLS, ACLS & PALS will be acquired and maintained
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communciation skills; interacts effectively with providers, patients, visitors and staff
- Well organized
- Demonstrates critical thinking and decision making skills
- Anticipates and recognizes need for immediate emergency patient interventions
- Three years recent acute care work experience
