Position Summary:
The Production Supervisor will report directly to the shift Production Manager and Plant Manager, and will be responsible for supporting the execution of production, coordinating the line team in operational activities, and ensuring food quality and safety.
Directly supervises 4-8 employees plans, assigns, and approves work for teammates in Production. This position is first shift, 6:00 am to 3:30 pm five days per week with rotating Saturdays.Essential Functions:
Lead and coordinate all resources on our production assembly lines and kitchen operationMonitor performance of kitchen equipment and machinery in collaboration with food production and engineering teams; communicate equipment malfunction to production managersMaintain performance standards for all aspects of food productionTrain, develop and coach production leads and employeesEnsure quality, safety and good manufacturing processes (GMPs) are followedComply with FDA, USDA and HACCP standardsIdentify and resolve employee, customer, and/or supplier concernsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions
Food Safety Responsibilities:
Report any food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Follow and uphold procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party programs/audits.
Responsible for taking necessary action on all food safety and quality problems reported or observed.Ensure a trained designee is appointed to cover for absences or vacancies.
Competencies:
Strong communication skillsFamiliar with and capable of demonstrating a strong understanding of HACCP or related food safety protocolComfortable with Microsoft Word and Excel and willing to learn new online tools and communication channels Self-starter with effective leadership, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skillsAble to excel in a fast-paced work environment with a growing start-up companyAble to work off-shifts (evening, weekend, holidays) as neededEducation, Experience, Licenses and Certifications:2+ years of experience working in Food ProductionHigh school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred)
Food certifications and licenses as requiredSpanish speaking skills are a plusPhysical Demands:
