    Default job background
    Description
Victory seeks a Victory Campaign Board Manager to support Victory's Political Fundraising efforts
Join our team and help LGBTQ+ candidates win
    Summary

For over three decades, LGBTQ+ Victory Fund and LGBTQ+ Victory Institute have helped to train, place, and elect thousands of openly LGBTQ+ public officials at every level of government.

Our leaders have been catalysts for expanding legal rights for LGBTQ+ people across the country, and they have transformed our nation's policies and shifted our political landscape towards equality, one election at a time.

Today, over 1200 LGBTQ+ Americans are serving in elected office due to the work of Victory.

Victory's work continues as LGBTQ+ people are severely underrepresented in all levels of government – serving in only 0.23% of all elected offices in the United States.

The Victory Campaign Board (VCB) is a select group of 160 individuals who identify, recruit and endorse LGBTQ+ candidates for elected office.

They additionally commit to fundraising for those candidates they choose to endorse through bundled contributions. These are critical leaders in their respective communities when it comes to ensuring LGBTQ+ electoral success.

The VCB is empowered to assess Victory Fund's coveted endorsement, which is only received after extensive vetting and research is conducted, and a proven commitment to advocate for the LGBTQ+ community is demonstrated.

Victory Fund is searching for a VCB Manager to manage the Victory Campaign Board, member recruitment process and political fundraising program.

    General Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the VCB Manager is directly responsible for the smooth operation, growth and engagement of the VCB program.

This position serves as a liaison between the development and political programs and works in close collaboration and partnership with the Vice President of Political Programs and entire political team.

The VCB Manager leverages the VCB members to raise funds in support of the political operation's various fundraising initiatives (General Operations, Victory Fund's PAC, various state PACs, Super PAC and direct bundled campaign contributions).

    Victory Campaign Board (VCB) Management

    • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Victory Campaign Board, including list management and website updates, and serve as the committee liaison and organizational point of contact.
    • Organize and execute four annual board meetings (two in-person with virtual options to attend and two virtual only) and quarterly caucus meetings.
    • Manage all logistics related to monthly Victory Campaign Board stakeholder calls, which includes sending meeting requests, preparing and distributing board materials, and preparing co-chairs and executive leadership with any materials needed.
    • Develop and distribute reports which track board growth, candidate fundraising and board member fundraising progress (give/get).
    • Act as the communications and information sharing liaison between the VCB, political and development teams. This includes managing a bi-weekly political/development team meeting (schedule meetings, provide working agendas, lead meetings).
    • Develop and update marketing and fundraising tools to support the VCB in its fundraising efforts, including fundraising webpages, bundling links, talking points, invitations and managing a calendar of events and online portal.
    • Provide routine updates and reports on the overall state of VCB and related activities to the Chief Development Officer and VP of Political Programs.
    • Meet with political team on a regular basis to review political priorities.
    Fundraising

    • Develop a pipeline and oversee the recruitment for Victory Campaign Board members.
    • Manage the growth of the Federal PAC fundraising program which involves identifying, cultivating and solicitating Federal PAC fundraising prospects.
This includes direct solicitations and executing an annual fundraising event.

    • Support fundraising efforts to raise into various PAC accounts such as the SuperPAC and State PACs based on organization's strategic initiatives.
    • Collaborate with candidates and campaigns to support Spotlight Candidates in their fundraising efforts which may include making introductions to VCB members, securing Victory's President & CEO for fundraising events, and providing strategic fundraising consulting.
    • Develop materials that support various fundraising initiatives, including donor and candidate memos, and donor proposals.
    • Support VCB members to achieve 100% of their give/get fundraising responsibilities by providing training, coaching and materials as needed.
    • Provide monthly reports to supervisor and stakeholders on progress towards all fundraising goals.
    • Utilize EveryAction database to manage and track progress towards fundraising goals.
    • Develop ideas for long-term projects to support the organizational and political fundraising program growth.
    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, plus two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
    • Experience in information-gathering, candidate services, and scheduling.
    • Understanding of campaign finances and bundling operations.
    • Experience in membership or as a board liaison is a plus.
    • One to two cycles of political experience in field, management, and/or PAC work is a plus.
    • Proven ability as a strong writer, analyst and team player.

    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Ability to handle and compile privileged information.
    • Impeccable follow up and follow through.
    • Detail oriented with strong organization and critical thinking skills.

    • Willingness to work beyond traditional business hours.
    • Commitment to the mission is a must.
