A top global investment bank, with a strong presence across continents, is looking for a skilled Legal & Compliance Director to join their team in Frankfurt, Germany. Working closely with the international Legal & Compliance team and local counterparts, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing legal and regulatory matters for the bank's entities in Germany and Switzerland.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Transaction and Compliance Oversight: Provide legal support for transactions, including contract negotiation and due diligence, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies to mitigate legal risks.
  2. Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with business units to assess and mitigate legal and compliance risks, developing strategies to protect the bank's interests and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  3. Legal Advisory Services: Offer specialized legal advice on German legal matters, including compliance with regulatory frameworks, contract interpretation, and risk management, supporting both legal and compliance functions.
  4. Policy Development and Implementation: Develop and enforce robust legal and compliance procedures, such as Compliance Manuals and Codes of Ethics, to uphold legal standards and regulatory requirements during transactions and business operations.

Candidate Profile

  1. Legal Expertise: A qualified German lawyer with at least two years of relevant experience in German and/or investment banking regulatory compliance, including financial crime and data protection regulation.
