Job TitleElectrical Project Engineer IIIJob DescriptionElectrical Project Engineer IIIVanderlande's Engineering Department is responsible for the design, specification, and commissioning of Material Handling Systems, Warehouse Automation and Parcel Sortation systems for our customers throughout North America.
In this position you will beworking with an engineering project team in the development of an automated warehouse or parcel sortation system.
You will be responsible for ensuring the design meets the customer requirements, is coordinated with other trades to ensure proper operation, can be installed and operated with efficiency, and maintain excellent communication with the site team.
Success in this role involves the ability to balance the technical requirements of the role while also having the soft skills to collaborate with the engineering team.
It also involves working closely with stakeholders from other disciplines and other departments to balance priorities, improve processes and satisfy a complex set of goals.
Success will require strong technical skills, creativity, strong interpersonal skills, drive, and passion.A successful candidate will demonstrate a keen intuition for when to attempt to solve problems on their own and when to enlist the help of other experienced leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:Develop code compliant electrical systems that meet the customer specificationsOptimize the system functionality from as-sold to a working electrical design within the budget in consultation with other disciplines (Mechanical, Controls, Supply Chain, Installation, etc.)
Perform system and component level calculations to size components and equipment for the application (conductor sizing, voltage drop, motor starters, overcurrent and short circuit protection, control panels, control networks, etc.)Engineering of project specials needed for non-standard design applicationsApply safety regulationsSpecify the electrical equipment required for the complete electrical system that operates and controls both the Vanderlande manufactured, and third party purchased itemsUse software tools (AutoCAD Electrical, Word, Excel, etc.) to develop the electrical designs such as wiring diagrams, termination lists, Bill of Materials, etc.
This is an entry level position.
