Audio Visual Technician
Position Overview
Perform installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to: cable pulls, cable terminations, system equipment and components, rack fabrication/wiring layout for equipment and metal fabrication.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform installation tasks as noted in job summary based on project scope and directives.
- Mount screens, projectors, displays, lifts, speakers and other AV equipment from wall or ceiling structures.
- Load wire equipment racks and other furniture with AV equipment.
- Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other installation system related tasks.
- Run cabling through walls, ceilings, floors, and other building structures.
- Work with supervisor and coworkers to ensure the system is installed appropriately in the required time frame.
- Test point to point cabling and functionality of systems.
- Track, manage and secure all associated equipment and tools on jobsite.
- Travel to various job sites required.
- Other duties assigned as needed.
Required Qualifications
Educational and Experience requirements include:
- Experience in installing commercial audiovisual, electronics or related industry installation.
- Must be able to lift 5080 pounds.
- Familiar with major commercial AV equipment (Crestron, JBL, Extron, Biamp, Barco, etc.)
- Experience installing flat panel displays, projectors and projector screens.
- Specific industry and manufacturer training/certifications a plus.
- Valid Driver s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company driving standards.
- Effectively communicate with employees, customers, and colleagues.
- Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
- Basic computer knowledge.
