Summary of Position:
This position will be part of our GovCiv Team.

As a Data Scientist, you will work directly with clients, managers and technical staff to understand business needs, develop technical plans, and deliver data-driven analytical solutions that solve client problems.

You will primarily create and deploy predictive models from a wide variety of data sources and types using the latest mathematical and statistical methods.


Essential Functions:

  • Performing systems development lifecycle activities including analysis, requirements, design, development, testing, and implementation of vendor products, information systems, and business processes in a variety of technical environments.
  • Evaluating and recommending technical solutions and participates in strategic planning.
  • Evaluating problems of workflows, organization, and technology and develops appropriate corrective action.
  • Assisting project manager in providing daily supervision and direction to staff, as needed.
  • Following best practices and develops and improves upon procedures consistent with task requirements.
  • Trying different predictive modeling approaches to identify the best fit for a given set of business understanding, available data, and project timeline
  • Writing reusable code in R, Python, Java, PySpark, Scala, SQL, or other languages, and working to refine it through code review and discussion.
