ABOUT THIS POSITION:

The Phoenix Convention Center and Venues is one of the premier convention facilities in the United States. It hosts a diverse range of conventions, trade shows, meetings, and entertainment events. We enhance the economic vitality of the Downtown area, the City of Phoenix, and the State of Arizona by supporting tourism-related industries/businesses and cultural organizations.

The Phoenix Convention Center has one vacant Production Coordinator position.


This position performs technical work in the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of state-of-the-art theatrical systems, including audio systems, lighting systems, and manual rigging systems required to meet client's needs for stage productions and other activities at the Orpheum Theater, Symphony Hall, and the Phoenix Convention Center.

Responsibilities also include advancing technical requirements for event production, integrating touring company equipment with in-house systems, providing event cost estimates for event labor and rental equipment, scheduling and providing functional supervision over stagehands and security.


SALARY:


Pay Range:
$ $42.64 per hour.

Hiring Range:
$ $36.84 per hour

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Three years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and operation of digital audio systems, stage rigging systems, and stage lighting equipment in a convention center, theater or other large public assembly facility.
  • Supplemented by college level courses in electronics or communications engineering.
  • Working irregular hours, second and/or third shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings will be required.
  • Moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds may be required.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:

  • Experience and knowledge working with industry specific tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Experience coordinating live event activity in theatrical venues or large assembly facilities.
  • Experience supervising the work of contracted staff.
  • Experience with installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting in:
  • Closed network systems in a production environment
  • Theatrical stage lighting systems.
  • Network audio systems.
  • Experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of:
  • Counterweight rigging systems.
  • Network audio systems.
  • Production or technical certifications.
