    Description

    LHH Recruitment is assisting our client, a tribal organization with their search for an Associate General Counsel to support the General Counsel on a broad range of legal and political matters arising in the operation of various businesses and interests. This is an exceptional opportunity to both practice law at a sophisticated level, as well as support the economic growth and development of this organization and it's people.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct research and writing necessary for the advice and recommendations to the Board of Directors, Executives, Departments, and staff
    • Assist with development of resolutions, agreements, grants, policies, procedures, and protocols
    • Negotiate and review of contracts in accordance with policies and protocols;
    • Handle legal disputes
    • Continue professional development, including training in the areas of Indian law, or other issues relevant to his or her job duties

    Requirements:

    • Working knowledge of federal Indian law
    • Ability to review and revise contracts with minimal supervision of General Counsel
    • Exceptional writing, communication, research and decision-making capabilities
    • Ability to communication well with people of all ages, and to speak clearly and ability to form rapport with groups
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Tribal officials, Tribal members and employees and the general public
    • JD Degree from an ABA accredited law school;
    • An active member of the Washington State Bar Association, OR ability to attain membership with in one (1) year of employment
