General Purpose:

This position is responsible for assisting in all aspects of consumer loan servicing.

Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to, vehicle title and insurance administration, collateral protection insurance, and loan maintenance.


Essential Functions:


  • Monitor the Credit Union's portfolio of vehicle titles to ensure Ardent is properly secured. Works collaboratively with our title administration vendor to resolve title processing issues. Contacts members, dealerships and other lenders to request documentation required to fulfill title recording requirements.
  • Regularly works the paid-in-full auto loan report and releases the Credit Union's interest in the vehicle title to the appropriate recipient utilizing our title administration vendor's software.
  • Utilize vendor software to ensure the Credit Union's auto loans are properly insured. Contacts members and insurance providers to verify and/or update the status of auto insurance.
  • Work with vendor to administer collateral protection insurance program. Performs loan account maintenance to add or refund collateral protection insurance premiums.
  • Complete loan account changes in the Credit Union's core processing system. Ensure data changes are in line with policies and procedures.
  • Process total loss and GAP insurance claims. Communicates status of claim to member.
  • Provide administrative support to the consumer lending department.

Other Duties:


  • Monitor department fax server and online banking messages.
  • Respond to member inquiries and requests for information related to consumer loans.

Job Requirements (Knowledge/Abilities):


  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Strong PC skills. Proficient with software programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team
  • Understanding of vehicle titling and insurance requirements (desired)
  • Working knowledge of credit union products and services

Job Requirements (Education/Experience):


  • High School diploma or equivalent.
2. 1 year or more at a financial institution performing customer service or loan administration functions preferred.
