About The Role
The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) - UX is a member of an Agile-oriented cross-functional team of software engineers, business systems analysts, software testers, technical writers, and graphic designers who leverage software to solve real-world problems in the Container Handling industry.
The SDET actively develops new test automation code and maintains existing test automation code with a high degree of quality, leveraging strong software design and test automation principles, ingenuity and creativity, attention to detail, and analytical skills to devise unique and innovative ways to test software solutions.
The SDET is responsible for writing test code and test cases for UX features while maintaining robust test automation suites, and employing validation, sanity, regression, and smoke testing during Sprint cycles to ensure builds are fully tested prior to releases.
The SDET works with Business Systems Analysts to determine customer and product requirements and their applicability to product code and test code; with Developers to better understand detailed acceptance criteria and scenarios, and to help debug issues; with Application Support to understand, debug, and resolve issues found by customers in production or lower environments; and with Product Engineering Management to deliver and track status on team, product, customer, and company initiatives.
Test UX designs and CSS properties, in detail, for responsive web pages on different browsers, platforms, and devices
Validate UX story functionalities and write corresponding test cases
Sanity test feature stories prior to release dates
Regression test release branches for build certifications
Smoke test release branches for hot fixes
Detect defects, investigate root cause, and create bug tickets
Write automated scripts for new test cases
Fix broken automation scripts caused by UX changes
Participate in all Agile process:
Stand-Ups, IPM, Retro, Showcases
Collaborate with BAs, DEVs, SDETs, and DevOps on cross-functional teams
Promote new ideas and/or tools that can improve current processes and/or automation code
Be highly available during core business hours whether on premises or remote
What You Will Need
Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision
Good Analytical skills to work with developer for troubleshooting
Proactive in learning new tools/techniques
Effective written and verbal communications skills
Ability to work well in a team environment and independently handling complex problems
Capable of using Chrome Dev Tools to inspect CSS, errors, and network calls/payloads
Able to write clear and concise test cases and organize them in a logical order for Test suite library
Ability to code in a reusable, modular, and readable fashion following industry best practices
Can adapt to change and triage priorities in a fast pace environment
Comfortable developing automation scripts using JavaScript, Chai, and WebdriverIO
Able to create page selectors for automation using advanced CSS selectors
Passion for new processes and technologies that can better the team and company

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $95, ,500.00 annually for California.
This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
