Our five-physician specialty practice, with primary location in Northern Virginia, has an exciting opportunity for a career-minded person who has experience in the healthcare industry, where you can make a difference in the life of cancer patients.

Experience with Nextgen is a plus.

Our practice is a leading provider for GYN oncology in the Northern Virginia area. The Practice Specialist works alongside the Practice Manager in leading and directing the overall operations of the practice. Applicants for this position must be dedicated, customer service driven, and eager to develop a new career path.

Must have keen attention to detail, be a self-starter, able to manage projects, marketing, and benefits administration, while facilitating efficient communication across the entire office.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Practice Specialist_

  • Assist with the daytoday operations
  • Manage the front desk schedule
  • Assist the billing department with posting office charges
  • Assist with A/R followup
  • Assist billing with resolving & approving billing holds
  • Prepare financial monthly reports as requested
  • Manage the Directorship Invoices for the physicians (Infusion, MWH, Valley, Loudoun)
  • Manage the hospital credentialing for all providers
  • Create, change & manage all provider templates
  • Create EHR access for all fellows & scribes
  • Manage incoming mail
  • Bank deposits as needed
  • Coordinate and order uniforms for employees
  • Manage the drug reps lunches
  • Managing EZpass account
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Other duties as assigned


Education and Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of medical practice administration experience required
Bachelor's degree preferred
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with staff across multiple departments
Excellent written and verbal communication
Experience with various forms of office software and equipment
Ability to write reports and make presentations
Ability to work with budgets and create spreadsheets

Maintain effective communication between management, providers, staff, and patients
Efficient time management and organizational skills, prioritizing tasks in an efficient manner
Adherence to corporate policies and procedures
Maintain patient and staff confidentiality at all times


Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines and workers need to be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Must be able to sit at a computer for an extended period of time.
