    CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt: Research Staff

    REPORTS TO: Lab Manager, Weissman Lab

    SCHEDULE: M-F, (on-site) (Part Time ~20h per week; available to work on Monday & Friday)

    OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

    Assists lab manager with organization and maintenance of lab equipment, inventory, and cleaning of the lab

    CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES

    • Maintains supply inventory Lab Common Stocks of consumables. Will unpack stock and place in appropriate space.
    • Prepares and add orders to Workday for necessary supply and chemical stocks.
    • Assists Lab Manager cleaning, and sterilizing laboratory equipment, instruments, and tissue culture room including biosafety cabinets, liquid bio waste, and change bleach in waste bottles.
    • Cleans and organizes sinks in the lab.
    • Assist with refrigerator and freezer defrosting. Organize freezer racks.
    • Will wipe down the centrifuges and other equipment once a month
    • Moderate lifting required (up to 20-30 pounds).
    • Other tasks as required or assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    · Certificate in biology required

    · Basic lab experience preferred.

    · Knowledge of basic lab techniques will be a plus.

    · Proactive and interest to learn new techniques.

    · Willing to work with animals (mice).

    · Excellent oral communication skills, strong organizational skills required.
