Purpose:
The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for proper maintenance and overall upkeep of guest rooms or condos, guest public areas, food facilities, common areas, waterpark and pool areas, hotel grounds, and maintenance areas for their property.
Importance is placed on safety-critical, attention-to-detail and effectively supporting hotel corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance activities through the maintenance and operation teams.
Primary Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Business:
The Hotel Maintenance Technician will work 8 hours to 10+ hours per shift, 5 or 6+ days each week, based on occupancy and staffing demand.
Holidays and weekends are affected by peak demand which means all team members must work together during those days to keep SMR operations running efficiently.
Support and assist the Maintenance Supervisor to achieve minimal breakdowns, efficient maintenance costs, and maintenance goals.Complete all assigned work orders as reported through the property management computer system.
Complete Daily and Weekly reports timely and checklist as assigned.
Support Maintenance Manager to ensure efficient operation of the Maintenance Department in accordance with all property manuals.
Respond to action items and guest related items or problems promptly and effectively troubleshoot / repair to prevent reoccurrence.
Follow all safety procedures and actively participate in safety training. Ensure compliance through safety system ownership.Meet approved preventative maintenance goals for each period.
Maintain pools and waterpark chemicals, equipment, and areas to company standards.
Communicate with my supervisor and property managers regarding projects, inventory, emergency maintenance issues, and guest impact items.
Maintain the highest level of cleanliness, maintenance, and care throughout property grounds, pool areas, activity areas, common areas, and back of house areas.
Compliance with TOSHA certification to handle biohazards and responsibilities for safety in handling.Knowledge and ability to comply with all company operating policies and procedures.
Perform other incidental and related duties as required and/or assigned.
Perform various tasks relating to projects and other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Property Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, or General Manager.
Management reserves the right to change, remove or add to these duties as necessary.Team Members:

Education / Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
1 year or more maintenance experience is required.
Technical certifications or vocational training in relevant fields is preferred.
Certified in:
HVAC and CPO is preferred.
Proven experience in hotel engineering, facility maintenance, or in a related role.
Hospitality experience within the Hotel / Condo / Residential Industry is preferred.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Valid driver's license and ability to be on company insurance.
Ability to deal with a diversified workforce

Essential Functions:
Specific vision abilities required for this job include peripheral, distance, close, and depth perception and the ability to adjust vision focus.
The employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and sit, use hands to finger, touch, handle, and feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb and descend numerous flights of stairs consistently. The employee is required to use hand, arm, and leg to reach, bend, push, pull, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds daily on their own.Ability to tolerate various temperatures while working outdoors, however most work will be performed indoors in an indoor office environment.
