Marketing Associate

The Role:


The Frederick Flying Cows professional basketball team associate program is an experience and opportunity like no other in professional sports As an associate, you will gain hands-on experience and receive tangible real world experience with direct responsibility in the organization.

You will not only receive the opportunity to learn and observe how a startup professional sports organization operatesbut also forever be able to say you were a part of the start of the Frederick Flying Cows


This position is a FULL TIME role, with an expectation of +40 worked hours per week, with an ever-changing schedule due to games, events, appearances and more.


Associates are required to work all Frederick Flying Cow home games and all scheduled events, as directed by the General Manager.

What you can expect


We are a small team, meaning our associates will work cross functionally, be involved in all aspects of the organization and have the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of areas.

With that, the Marketing Associate will prioritize all things branding and public relations of the organization.

As the Flying Cows marketing associate, you may work on the following, but not limited to:

  • Administer all Flying Cows social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, X, Tik Tok, etc )
  • Create multiple pieces of content daily including graphics, reels, and more
  • Plan and carry out specific marketing campaigns
  • Cover Flying Cows games including providing in game updates, posting content, conducting post game interviews and crafting game recaps.
  • Work directly with Flying Cows players and coaching staff to highlight and promote the personalities of the organization
  • Edit game and player highlight reels
  • Write and distribute press releases and garner/manage relationships with local and national media outlets
  • Track and provide weekly updates on relevant marketing metrics
  • Manage and schedule the mascot performers as well as be the mascot performer, as needed.
  • Schedule and manage player appearances and community events
  • Gameday setup & breakdown
  • Work collaboratively with the account manager to promote all sponsors and partners
  • Work directly with team General Manager on various aspects of the organization Assist with other team projects, as needed

Basic Expectations & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or actively pursuing degree.
  • Must be located in the Frederick, MD area.
  • Report directly to the General Manager, and fulfill all duties as requested.
  • Manage and direct interns and gameday staff.
  • Represent the organization, as needed, at events and appearances.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all existing and potential fans.
  • Professionally represent the organization at business and community functions.
  • Work as a member of the TEAM, and Have Fun
  • Attend all home games and events to ensure great customer service to all fans. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Photography & Videography skills preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to function well in a highpaced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

    High-Quality entertainment product that is appealing to a broad age range. We want TBL basketball home games to be a highquality fun and entertaining event that people will enjoy, both basketball fans and nonbasketball fans.
  • We need to put together an excellent
    Basketball team and basketball organization. To this end, we are interviewing head coaches now and hope to hire someone by June of this year so that they will have a full year to build and plan a team.
  • We need to build a
    Community organization that is invested in Frederick County. Our goal is for TBL basketball, over time, to be part of the fabric of the community, and a team that the people of Frederick are proud of.


As we think about putting together our team, we have broken the operation down into four (3) areas of focus
:Basketball Operations, Business Operations, Sales & Marketing.
