- Teaching sections of English courses such as Introduction to Literature, Global Perspectives in British Literature, and Literature of the Americas with the potential to teach a senior elective.
- Creating and updating plans for content, quality, and continuity of curriculum while collaborating with members of the English Department to ensure consistency across sections.
- Critically examining text selections and teaching materials in order to build diverse, equitable, inclusive, and just English classes.
- Actively collaborating with Learning Strategists, Educational Technologists, and the Counseling Staff to develop strategies to support all students.
- Maintaining good communication with families about student progress through regular progress reports and responses to parents' inquiries.
- Attending all faculty and employee meetings. Requirements and Qualifications:
- A track record of successful teaching, a capacity for working with a range of learning abilities, and experience integrating appropriate educational technologies into the classroom.
- Familiarity with current emphases on writing instruction, research, and Understanding by Design, the School's chosen pedagogical approach to teaching and learning.
- A demonstrated desire to innovate and collaborate, strong writing and communication skills, a capacity for organization and follow-through, creativity, and flexibility. Compensation includes salary commensurate with experience.
