Job Overview:
Busy Gastroenterology ASC seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team.

As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures, ensuring timely reimbursement, and maintaining patient records.

If you have a strong understanding of medical billing processes and coding systems, knowledge of medical terminology and coding guidelines and regulations, along with excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Review and verify accuracy of medical documentation, including diagnoses, treatments, and procedures
• Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD9, ICD10) to ensure proper billing and reimbursement
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
• Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers regarding claim status or payment discrepancies
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Collaborate with the medical office team to ensure accurate and complete documentation for billing purposes
• Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines and regulations

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical billing preferred
• Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD9, ICD10), and billing procedures
• Familiarity with medical office software systems (e.g., EHR, practice management software)
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

Degree or professional certification, preferred.

Note:
This is a paid position. Internship positions must also be compensated.


Pay:
$ $24.62 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
