Today, Union Settlement provides services through 33 program sites in approximately 28 locations.

Union Settlement's current programmatic portfolio includes 8 core program areas:

Early Childhood Education, Youth Services (including after school programs), Family Services (including the Family Enrichment Center and the Family Childcare Network), the East Harlem Community Partnership, Adult Education, Mental Health Services, Older Adult Centers, and Economic Development.

Union Settlement serves more than 10,000 individuals and nearly 1,000 businesses every year.

: Position Summary**:


Responsibilities:


  • Meet and greet clients at the front desk.
  • Checkin clients upon arrival.
  • Verify Insurance coverage for new and existing clients
  • Review and process completed sessions.
  • Distribute Metro cards to qualified persons.
  • Update database regarding client visit status.
  • Obtain prior authorizations for prescriptions.
  • Call clients for appointment reminders.
  • Distribute logs and encounter forms to therapists.
  • Train mental health staff to utilize EMR
  • Serve as EMR site expert for staff
  • Maintains EHR training documentation
  • Assists to troubleshoot various problems
  • Logs tickets with vendor, following up on resolution
  • Develops means to utilize EHR to pull necessary and required data reports.
  • Performs testing after EHR upgrades, updates and as needed
  • Protect the confidentiality of Medical Practice Partners' interests and patient's medical record
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Oversees the medical records and record requests

Qualifications:


  • Strong computer skills; knowledge of Medi-EHR billing software a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining software data and protocols.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Exemplary and dedicated work ethic.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
