    SUMMARY

    Provide non-clinical, peer based activities that engage, educate and support an individual in their recovery from substance use. Facilitate groups and participate in multi-disciplinary meetings to provide a support network for members of the Anchored in Recovery Support Center.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide individual and group support to referred and self-referred recoverees.
    • Create and maintain accurate recoveree files and records; complete required ongoing paperwork.
    • Establish a recovery plan with each individual and update regularly.
    • Communicate regularly with recoverees in person or via text, email and phone and video with agency provided hardware
    • Engage all recoverees by understanding and addressing their needs whether within or outside the scope of work.
    • Maintain confidentiality of recoveree, employee and agency information in accordance with federal and state laws and funder requirements.
    • Attend & participate in team meetings as requested and communicate effectively with recoverees and staff in other areas.
    • Drive recoverees to appropriate recovery activities if required.
    • Ensure compliance with program/department, agency and/or funder requirements, as well as, SMOC policies & procedures.
    • Collaborate and communicate with staff as needed.
    • Provide related information and referrals to community-based resources.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

    • Must have lived experience with substance use, and be in recovery.
    • Able to complete Recovery Coach Academy Training
    • The ability to work independently
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills – bilingual is a plus
    • Valid MA driver's license, reliable transportation and ability to transport clients in vehicle.

    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP

    • Reports directly to AIR Program Coordinator
    • Direct reports of this position are none.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to drive.
    • Ability to ascend and descend stairs.
    • Dress is business casual.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    This position may encounter residences which may not be handicapped accessible. Some travel with recoverees is required. As part of the responsibilities of this position, the Recovery Coach will have direct or incidental contact with recoverees served by SMOC in various programs funded or administered through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. A successful background check is required.
