Job Summary and Qualifications:


The Structural Heart Navigator is responsible for performing duties according to Structural Heart Department policy, procedures, processes, and protocols and according to directives from the Lead Structural Heart Navigator and Director of Cath Lab.


What you will do in this role:

  • Ensures efficiency and productivity with respect to administrative and clinical functions of the position
  • Utilizes positive communication with physicians, office staff, hospital stakeholders and their office staff on available programs and updated processes
  • Acts as a liaison and ambassador with external hospitals and clinicians to direct appropriate referrals to the cardiac surgery practice to provide seamless care for patients, both inpatient and outpatient.
  • Communicates and coordinates with the preadmission testing dept., surgical scheduling, and nursing units
  • Handles patient questions or concerns after discharge with appropriate input from the surgeons
  • Act as a resource for cardiovascular research projects when needed, at the discretion of the Administrator of Cardiovascular Services.
  • Coordinates followup with external facilities and assists in communication with other facilities with questions of patient care
  • Schedule patients for their procedures including all pre and post work ups, prior authorizations, and communications for compliant billing
  • Work closely with physician leadership and nurse practitioner(s) to ensure compliance with Registry input

What qualifications you will need:


  • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state of practice and/or active compact license, in accordance with laws and regulation or Florida Radiology
  • One year cardiovascular clinical experience, data management, clinical analysis, process improvement and reporting required.
  • Certification: Cardiovascular Specialty Certification or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist preferred.
  • Five to ten years cardiovascular clinical experience, data management, clinical analysis, process improvement and reporting. Previous registry experience preferred.
