Nemours is looking for a Medical Assistant (MA) to join the primary care team at the Jessup Street location in Wilmington, DE.

The MA plays a crucial role in connecting patients, families, providers, and other care team members.

Responsibilities include coordinating patient flow, assisting in clinical data collection, and ensuring accurate information for the provider.

The MA also performs clinical procedures, manages business processes for outpatient visits, and provides support and training to new medical assistant associates.

Essential Functions:

Greets patients and families following Nemours Standards of Behavior.
Verifies patient identity using two identifiers - name and date of birth.
Prepares exam rooms, clinic equipment, and technology.
Rooms patients, ensuring all necessary documents are available.
Performs clinical duties such as measuring vital signs, documenting patient information, and conducting phlebotomy.
Administers vaccines and medications as ordered.
Handles front desk tasks related to patient check-in and insurance verification.
Communicates effectively with clinical staff and patients to ensure smooth workflow.
Maintains inventory, cleanliness, and safety in the work environment.
Assists patients in using the Nemours App.
Manages clerical tasks and electronic systems efficiently.

Requirements:

High School Diploma.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or certification as a medical assistant.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
