Job Title: Database Administrator

Location: Nashville, TN (On-site)

Salary: $75k/yr, but will go higher for the right fit

Experience: 2-5 years

Preferred Database Experience: SQL (MariaDB, MySQL, Postgres)

Additional Skills: Proficiency in Python or PHP is a plus

Job Description:

Our company is seeking a talented and experienced Database Administrator to join our team in Nashville, TN. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of hands-on experience working with SQL databases, with a preference for expertise in MariaDB, MySQL, and Postgres. Proficiency in Python or PHP is also desirable.

Responsibilities:

Database Administration: Manage and administer the company's databases, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.
Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to database security, integrity, and availability.
Database Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including updates, backups, and patch management, to ensure the health and stability of the databases.
Security Management: Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data, including access controls, encryption, and monitoring.
Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize database performance, resolving issues and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency.
Backup and Recovery: Establish and manage backup and recovery procedures to safeguard data against loss or corruption.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and system administrators, to support database-related needs.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve database-related issues promptly, providing timely support to minimize downtime.

Qualifications:

Experience: 2-5 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator, preferably with MariaDB, MySQL, and/or Postgres.
Skills: Proficient in SQL with the ability to write complex queries and troubleshoot database-related problems. Knowledge of Python or PHP is a plus.
Security: Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.
Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Problem-Solving: Proven ability to analyze and solve complex database-related problems.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and stay current with industry trends.
