Basic Function:

As an Instructor, you'll play a crucial role in supervising vocational jobs and implementing habilitative day training programs for our individuals.

Reporting to the Vice President, you'll lead by example, inspire teamwork, and ensure the success of our vocational services and training initiatives.


Description of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison between Milestone Industries and residential programs, effectively communicating the needs, progress, and concerns of assigned individuals.
  • Participate as a key member of the interdisciplinary team, contributing insights and reports to drive the development and progress of individuals.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individual habilitation programs, ensuring personalized support and progress tracking.
  • Manage the setup of vocational jobs, providing guidance and training to Group Supervisors and Team Leaders.
  • Conduct quality checks and time studies on jobs, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in vocational services.
  • Complete computer data entry and perform equipment checks to ensure proper functioning.
  • Provide supervision and training to Group Supervisors, Team Leaders, and DSPs in vocational training sessions and documentation procedures.
  • Function as a trainer for direct care staff, orienting them to specific job responsibilities and new programs.
  • Propose policies, procedures, and program suggestions to enhance vocational services and training initiatives.
  • Supervise safety drills and intervene immediately in any behavioral or healthrelated crises, adhering to Milestone, Inc.'s philosophy and procedures regarding Human Rights.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum age of 21 with a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Vocational Education, or a related field.
  • Ability to intervene in behavioral or healthrelated crises, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of individuals.
  • One year of supervisory experience, demonstrating leadership and organizational skills.
  • Valid Driver's License and Authorized Milestone Driver status.
