    Senior Project Engineer

    Location: Bakersfield

    Salary: $120K-$140K

    We are currently representing a well-established organization with over five decades of experience as an industrial contractor specializing in petrochemical, power generation, heavy industrial, manufacturing, and processing facilities with a focus on sustainability.

    They pride themselves on a family-feel culture, working by their values of teamwork, safety, and excellence. Due to an exciting new project, they are expanding their team and looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join their team in Bakersfield.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Oversee project execution, prioritizing safety while managing costs effectively.
    • Support and manage project completion across the region, including setting deadlines, delegating tasks, and monitoring financial and project progress.
    • Collaborate with the project team under supervisor guidance to meet and exceed project targets, assisting General Foremen and their teams in delivering projects on time and within budget.
    • Engage in pre-project activities such as site visits and bid meetings to fully grasp project requirements and customer expectations.
    • Assist in project management tasks, including scheduling, issue and risk management, as well as providing status updates to all stakeholders.
    • Allocate project personnel effectively, ensuring the right fit for each task.
    • Foster positive relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction with project progress and outcomes.
    • Report project status accurately and timely to both management and clients.
    • Participate actively in both team and safety meetings, contributing to a cohesive and safe working environment.
    • Progress towards a Project Manager role through performance and experience.
    • Adapt to diverse work environments, including outdoor sites with varying conditions and potential exposure to hazardous materials and noise.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Petroleum Engineering, Construction Management, or a relevant combination of education and experience.
    • Preference for candidates with industrial construction experience and previous project team involvement.
    • Fundamental understanding of industrial construction norms, codes, and safety regulations.
    • Basic knowledge of process plant operations and design, including an understanding of common systems and equipment.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills, capable of professional business interactions.
    • Willingness to travel regularly to project sites.
    • Familiarity with estimation, scheduling, blueprint reading, CAD files, and shop drawings.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong overall computer literacy.
