    Fastly is looking for a manager for the Network Architecture team. In this role, you will oversee engineers who are centrally responsible for the edge network's present and future success. The team ensures our network architecture is fault tolerance, cost-effective, scalable

    and highly performant.

    You will be asked to drive the confluence of switching, server, software and protocols to create a coherent and self-healing infrastructure the company can deliver solutions on.


    What You'll Do:
    Lead mentor and coach your team; a diverse array of developers, architects, network and site reliability engineers to deliver new systems and support existing ones

    Prioritize the team's roadmap

    Develop new topologies and architecture while providing direction in switching infrastructure that you will integrate with existing and new distributed systems

    Collaborate with Eng and Ops teams to improve performance, automation and efficiency

    Grow your team to develop, and shape the organization

    Provide planning and structure to execute confidently

    Guide the team on engineering practices to craft high quality systems


    What We're Looking For:


    You have 10 years of experience in software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, Go), with 5 of those years in a direct management role.

    Expertise in Interdomain traffic engineering, and forwarding, BGP and DNS technologies

    Experience troubleshooting network issues related to traffic engineering and switching.

    Experience in distributed systems and highly available environments

    We'll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these:

    Expertise in network design and deployment methodologies.

    A track record of implementing self healing systems at global scale

    Experience with acute incident response
