The HSC team, consisting of 750 employees and more than 100 volunteers, serves children, young adults, and their families in District of Columbia and Maryland.

******Coordinate patient registrations, therapy, and clinic appointments within the HSC system. Manage referrals, maintain waitlists, collect information, handle insurance authorizations, and ensure customer service standards are met.

Qualifications
Minimum Education
High School Diploma or GED (required)

Minimum Work Experience
2 years of clerical experience in healthcare (required)

Required Skills/Knowledge
Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance procedures, and computer programs.
Proficient in CPT/ICD Coding.
Strong organizational and telephone skills.
Ability to multitask efficiently.
Experience with programs like SharePoint, Cerner, and eClinical Works (eCW).

Job Functions
Registration and Scheduling
  • Obtain physician orders.
  • Schedule appointments.
  • Coordinate with various practitioners.
  • Complete necessary paperwork during scheduling calls.

Eligibility and Authorizations
  • Review clinical documentation.
  • Obtain insurance authorizations.
  • Handle insurance denials and resubmissions.
  • Determine patient financial responsibilities.

Communication and Documentation
  • Interact with case managers and internal teams.
  • Document all conversations.
  • Maintain communication standards.
