Overview:


The Labor Analyst will coordinate, prepare, and present routine and ad-hoc analyses of payroll and labor statistics to support company budgeting and forecasting, support operational efficiencies and staffing changes, and assist in control of labor costs.

Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.


Essential Functions:

  • Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort's "ELITE" companywide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
  • Support and conduct analysis projects including data collection and report writing. Prepare summaries and recommendations based on data and findings.
  • Prepare and present executive summary reports on key payroll and labor metrics to senior members of the leadership team.
  • Provide information, reports, and presentation materials in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Assist operational departments in the preparation of productivity standards for use in future analyses.
  • Prepare and evaluate reports to analyze key payroll metrics including but not limited to full time equivalent trends (FTEs), key performance indicators (KPIs), staffing, headcounts, and overtime. Meet with operational departments regularly to review reports and recommend changes to optimize staffing and labor costs.
  • Prepare adhoc analyses to support operational department staffing initiatives including but not limited to, headcount changes, operational hours changes, expansions, workforce reductions, and rebids.
  • Assist operational departments and Scheduling with the preparation of schedule templates, using labor analytics and standard business rules to support schedule models.
  • Evaluate and document the need for staffing changes, where necessary, to better match labor force with current or forecasted business volumes.
  • Prepare annual payroll budget and working directly with Accounting to incorporate results into overall annual company budget.
  • Analyze P&L reports in regards to payroll costs compared to budget, and work with operational departments to explain variances.
  • Prepare regular payroll cost forecasts to incorporate in overall company financial forecasts.
  • Work directly recruitment team to evaluate open job requisitions.
  • Communicate with Human Resources regarding ongoing developments in labor laws and work rules to ensure compliance with applicable laws, company policies, and union contract.
  • Responsible for creating queries and designing reports. Create and manage subscriptions for routine ongoing reports.
  • Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and presenting various management reports. Will be responsible for the integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of all data.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in businessrelated field or equivalent level of experience.
  • Working experience in a casino/resort is preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and database querying experience is required. Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and Microsoft Report Builder is preferred.
  • Understanding of data storage and an ability to read queries and extract data from various systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and management in both written and verbal form.
  • Must be able to articulate research findings and results to all levels of management and make recommendations based on those results.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Selfmotivated, independent individual with strong organizational skills. Must be detail oriented, innovative, and thorough.
  • Must be flexible, able to handle multiple tasks and establish priorities effectively.
  • Must be able to access all areas of the casino as part of the requirements to perform duties as listed above.
  • Flexible working hours and schedule required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Manual dexterity to use job related equipment.
  • Ability to sit and view a computer monitor for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to access all areas of the casino as part of the requirements to perform duties as listed above.
