WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

When you're an assistant you could also be called customer service representative, records filer, patient preparer, or jack of all trades.

If you like to wear those hats and more you should consider being an Imaging Assistant. This important player on the Radiology team works with important people and important records each and every day. If you can handle both of those with care, this could be the job for you.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Assist radiologist to communicate reports to patient care units, referring physicians, and emergency department.
  • Assist with delivery of STAT results to order providers.
  • Cross train in related areas to assist the technologist and to maximize department efficiency.
  • Document patients in EPIC; transcribe orders into EPIC and link orders with the visit.
  • Greet patients, physicians, visitors, and salespeople promptly in order to provide service and process requests.
  • Manage and coordinate the release of information to patients.
  • Take requests and make cd copies for physicians, patients, and various departments in order to provide duplication of original records.
  • Assist nonambulatory patients to with travel through the department and health center, utilizing transport carts and wheelchair patients as required.

WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED

  • Prior Radiology experience.
  • Adapt and respond quickly to changing priorities.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of Imaging Procedures.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNREC, and JCAHO safety codes, regulations, and requirements.
  • Work independently with mínimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Required High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 year Radiology Preferred
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS)
  • American Heart Association
