Description
Established local healthcare provider under new management seeking a reliable, and professional Patient Account Representative.

The Patient Account Representative is responsible for insurance verification for potential new admission patients.

This position is also responsible for the coordination of billing, collections, and follow-up of third party and self-pay liabilities, including associated documentation, correspondence and billing system maintenance as required, identification of problem or un-collectable accounts, logging, and transaction posting as may be necessary.

Job duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintains patient financial arrangements within established policy guidelines.
  • Reviews admission/financial counseling areas to ensure insurance verification, advance payment, financial counseling, and payment agreements.
  • Processes credit card payments and monthly credit card payment logs.
  • Sorts and distributes incoming hospital mail.
  • Maintaining update to date information for both paper and electronic patient financial files.
  • Investigate Medicare secondary payers to determine primary insurance for billing purposes.
  • Communicate with the Corporate Central Billing Office for inpatient and outpatient billing and payments.
  • Provide explanation of insurance benefits and coverage as requested by patients.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma
  • Two (2) years' experience in related or similar position.
  • CPR Certification
  • Must be eligible for a Level II AHCA background screening
