Lead Machine Operator - Chandler, United States - Savage Paper Specialties, LLC

Description

• Ensure that all activities are carried out safely.
• Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle.
• Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed).
• Adjust production equipment such as clearing jams, product changeovers, etc.
• Clean up and blow down machinery; assist setting up equipment for production runs.
• Inspect and troubleshoot the operation of the machines with precision and measuring tools.
• Fix and/or report mechanical issues that might occur during the shift.
• Check output to spot any machinerelated mistakes or flaws.
• Ensure daily throughput is in line with target.
• Perform quality checks on packaging to ensure all produced products meet quality standards.
• Follow SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) for production equipment.
• Keep work area organized, clean and safe.
• Help to identify opportunities for improvement (safety, quality, productivity).
• Utilize Forklift to feed raw material to fully & semiautomated machines.
• Train employees and new hires, efficiently and safely providing them all instructions necessary to complete tasks.
• Collaborate with the first shift team to continue with the orders assigned for the day and ensure orders are completed correctly.
• Engage employees to establish a healthy and positive work environment.
• Responsible for escalating any violation to policies and/or inappropriate behaviors immediately to direct line manager (Production Manager).
• Performs other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Experience operating machinery is recommended.
• Forklift/Pallet Jack experience preferred but not required.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and proactive attitude.
• Leadership Experience and Skills
• Adherence to health and safety regulations.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Ability to stand, bend, reach, squat for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift heavy material up to 60 lbs
