You have successfully completed your education or will do so by August 1, 2024, and want to prepare for leadership roles in the market.

Core topics include business administration (e.g.

performance indicators, personnel planning, labor law), sales promotion (such as assortment and organization in the market), and the basics of employee management.

To ensure a constant transfer between theory and practice, you will prepare for the seminars by working on practical tasks in your own market.

This will give you first-hand experience with leadership tasks and create the ideal foundation for new areas of responsibility.


The following profile describes you:


  • Completed training as a retail salesperson with a good degree
  • You are a high performer in the market
  • You possess commercial thinking skills, comprehensive product and assortment knowledge
  • You have a sense of personal responsibility
  • You will participate in a 4day advanced seminar before starting the JAP
  • You will submit your later acquired certificates, such as the IHK certificate for retail salesperson and your vocational school diploma, without being prompted

What to expect:


  • Start: October 1, 2024
  • Duration: 12 months (18 seminar days plus final exam)
  • Practical training in various departments
  • Examination with an EDEKA internal certificate
