Your Role

The Intake Coordinator is responsible for answering calls through Sertoma Star's Community Mental Health and Counseling intake line, completing pre-screens with an intake caller, verifying insurance benefits, scheduling intakes, adding consumers into the electronic records system, and providing referrals if consumers are not appropriate for Sertoma Star's services.


Responsibilities- Manage the intake line to ensure that all calls are handled efficiently, including scheduling and follow-up on appointments.- Complete pre-screens, verify insurance benefits, and schedule intakes with Sertoma's Intake Specialists.- Send intake consents electronically or via mail.- Enter consumers into POE in the electronic records system upon referral.- Manage the Access Tracking Spreadsheet.- Build and maintain relationships with local mental health providers, community psychiatric hospitals, law enforcement, and other support services to expand and enhance support to individuals served.- Conduct risk assessments as needed and provide case management support.- Promote awareness of mental health both internally and externally.


Qualifications- High School Diploma/GED required.- Knowledge of working with individuals experiencing mental illness and knowledge of the recovery model.- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.- Valid driver's license and documentation of current auto insurance, with an acceptable motor vehicle report.
