Department History Overview

  • Harris County Resources for Children and Adults was founded in 1966 as The Harris County Child Welfare Board to provide support services for children taken under the wing of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Fifty years later, Harris County Resources for Children and Adults still provides this support. But the nowcounty department has expanded services for early prevention, intervention, and adult services.

Asset Management Coordinator Overview:


  • Under the supervision of the Asset Control and Accountability Manager, works closely with the Harris County Resources for Adult Services Division
  • Guardianship Program to research, assess and valuate the assets of wards receiving services through the Guardianship Program. Collaborates with internal and external entities regarding the management of ward's assets.

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Research and evaluation of assets through various resources.
  • Identifies and secures bank accounts, safe deposit boxes, and all resources pertaining to all banking and financial institutions.
  • Responsible for the continued management of assets.
  • Ensures all assets are properly recorded and reconciled in the financial system.
  • Ensures all assetrelated transactions are in compliance with program policies, estate code guidelines, and court orders.
  • Responsible for coordinating the movement and storage of all the ward's assets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned within the scope and responsibilities of the position.
  • Manages transaction records and documentation related to all assets belonging to wards.

Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, or closely related field

OR- a Paralegal Degree
Experience:


  • Minimum two (2) years fulltime paid work experience in a business administration, real estate, social services, or a legal setting.
  • Training and experience using a personal computer with a variety of software such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to travel to different banking locations and wards homes

Licensure:


  • Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license (Texas) and auto liability insurance

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • Knowledge of county, state, and federal laws, the Texas Estates Code, statutes, rules, and standards governing guardianship, and asset management guidelines.
  • Skill in empathizing, valuing, and dealing successfully with the special capabilities, distinctive cultural histories, and unique needs of people of various socioeconomic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds. Skill in selfdiscipline, reliability, and ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and prioritize multiple tasks and demands to accomplish outcomes.
  • Maintains the highest standards of ethical behavior, exercising honesty and integrity, respect, confidentiality, and fairness in the execution of their official responsibilities.
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with residential facilities, care providers, family members, benefit carriers, government officials and departments, community partners and resources, and the public.
  • Handles sensitive interpersonal situations calmly and tactfully.
  • Communicates detailed and often sensitive information effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Maintains confidential information.
  • Develops and implements processes and procedures to accomplish outcomes

  • Full-time | Monday-Friday 8:00 am
  • 5:00 pm
    Salary:

- $44,096.00-$59, Annually)
  • Based on 26 Pay Periods
