MOLD SETTER
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Knowledge of areas of production to include production presses, dryers, grinder and general maintenance tools
  • Ability to work closely with groups of people, including company employees at all levels, suppliers, competitors, subcontractors and other outside professionals with whom the company deals with on a regular basis
  • Ability to operate radios, Motan Material Handling system, man lift, loaders, predryers, and other specialized production equipment
  • Ability to operate as a 'trusted agent' in which full confidentiality and strict ethical business standards are to be observed
  • Ability to work extended hours, odd hours, weekends, as required to cover for overtime and absence of other Set-Up Prep personnel
  • Ability to follow safe work practices, including lockout/tag out and safety harnessesPhysical Body Position:This position requires the ability to stand, walk and climb for prolonged periods of time. This position requires the ability to lift up to 70 pounds. This position requires the ability of eyesight (corrected) to include normal color acuity, full use of limbs, hearing (corrected) and ability to use hand held radio. This position requires the ability to physically perform all aspects of the job without significant accommodation.
RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTIES* Retrieve and set molds

  • Setup molds, setup tooling
  • Verify quality of product at start of production
  • Train and assist setup preps, as required
  • Perform inprocess mold cleanings, as scheduled
  • Support maintenance of equipment, as needed
  • Log information in Mattec
  • Set process parameters in presses during changeovers
  • Submit 1st piece and tag last shot
  • Clean grinders and hoppers daily; unclog grinders using proper lockout procedures
  • Clean equipment filters at presses as production demands
  • Perform color and material changes at production presses as directed by Set-Up Coordinator; properly loading, unloading and identifying materials used
  • Learn and complete proper mold and equipment storage
  • Perform startup, shutdown and restart procedures on presses
  • Maintain proficiency and certification on all items contained within this and proceeding task and duty descriptions
  • Support and maintain 5S housekeeping standards
  • Perform other duties as required by Management
  • Work overtime as needed with little or no notice to cover vacations/calloffs
  • Work rotating schedule for Saturday preventative maintenance

Pay:
$ $22.00 per hour
