Job Title: 7th-8th Middle School Single Subject Social Science Teacher
Schedule: 40 hrs/week min.**
Job Type: Full-Time
FLSA Status:Exempt

Reports to:
Principal
Pay:$62,235, starting (DOE), Salary Scale

Special:
Requires weekend work, nights

and early mornings, as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & JOB DUTIES:

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

NETWORK CONTRIBUTIONS:

Support the mission, vision, and core values of Ingenium Schools
Strive to implement, by instruction and action, Ingenium Schools' philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives in connection with Ingenium's Signature Practices
Continuously maintain and improve professional competence
Attend mandatory trainings, professional meetings, and educational conferences, as required

CLASSROOM CULTURE

Build relationships with all students that demonstrate mutual respect and compassion
Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior, measuring progress through individual and class goal setting
Involve students in the process of the classroom including: creating a class Code of Cooperation, creating classroom procedures, and conflict resolution strategies
Create a safe, developmentally appropriate classroom environment conducive to learning and based on student interests and goals
Incorporate restorative justice and PBIS practices and implement social emotional learning curriculum
Implement and support school/organizational policies governing student life and conduct
Utilize educational technology including GoogleApps for Education to enhance learning experiences

ACADEMIC

Design, implement, and monitor the learning experiences of each student.
Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods: lecture, discussion, demonstration, small group, studentled instruction, etc.
Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' differing needs and interests
Prepare and implement intervention programs for students requiring extra help
In harmony with curriculum and in connection with Common Core State Standards, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives to students daily
Prepare materials and classroom for class activities
Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, and guide students in learning activities

DATA DRIVEN

Consistently and accurately observe and assess students' academic performance, behavior, social development, and physical health, both formally and informally, through observation, formative assessment, and written evaluation
Provide frequent and timely feedback to students and parents on student progress
Recommend resources to parents for additional student growth
Timely deliver accurate and complete written and oral progress reports
Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by law and Ingenium Schools' policies
Maintain individual and class goal folders to set learning goals and action plans and track learning process
Maintain student confidentiality
