Strategic Partners Finance - Financial Planning and Analysis, Associate


Job Description:


Blackstone Strategic Partners is seeking an Associate to join its Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team within its Finance department.

The role will focus on financial analysis, modeling, forecasting and reporting to SP Management, Corporate FP&A and other Blackstone constituents.

The team collaborates with the Global Fund Finance, Investment, Corporate FP&A, SEC Reporting, Accounting Policy, Valuation and Institutional Client Solutions teams.

The role will have direct exposure to SP Management.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing forecasts, budgets and strategic plans for submission to SP Management and Corporate FP&A
  • Preparing and presenting various monthly, quarterly and ad hoc analyses, reports and presentations regarding SP's financial and operating performance to SP Management
  • Reviewing, analyzing and monitoring SP's bonus pool calculations provided by Corporate FP&A
  • Collaborating with Fund Managers, Investment Operations and Global Fund Finance teams to prepare fund budget models for forecasts for SP Management, the firm and various limited partner requests
  • Monitoring, reviewing and analyzing SP's management fees, carried interest and both firm and fundlevel expenses; partnering with various business groups to understand drivers and trends
  • Analyzing and compiling information on a quarterly and ad hoc basis for submission to the SEC Reporting team in connection with Blackstone's public company reporting requirements
  • Collaborating with Accounting Policy regarding SP's firm reporting policies and practices
  • Partnering with and performing control and oversight of various groups across the firm that support Strategic Partners to ensure high quality service

Qualifications:


Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.


  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required with a strong academic record
  • Strong understanding of private equity funds, prior experience in FP&A and CPA preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to review and transform large data sets into meaningful presentations
  • Quick learner who is highly organized, has exceptional project management skills and is processoriented; ability to plan, communicate, meet deadlines and execute upon multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to work well as part of a small team as well as to build relationships across the firm
  • Extremely motivated to excel in a dynamic environment
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and financial modeling

Expected annual base salary range:
$105,000 - $140,000


Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location.

For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.


Additional compensation:
Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.

Depending on the position, you may be required to obtain certain securities licenses if you are in a client facing role and/or if you are engaged in the following:

  • Attending client meetings where you are discussing Blackstone products and/or and client questions;
  • Marketing Blackstone funds to new or existing clients;
  • Supervising or training securities licensed employees;
  • Structuring or creating Blackstone funds/products; and
  • Advising on marketing plans prepared by a sales team or developing and/or contributing information for marketing materials.
