Role: Staff Accountant - Accounts Payable

Hiring Type : Contract to Hire

Location: Washington D.C.

Pay: $20 - $25 / Hour

Office Schedule: in office 1x a week

Are you looking for a growth opportunity for a reputable company with a positive work environment? Our client is looking for a Staff Accountant - Accounts Payable to join their team. Job Responsibilities:

•Responsible for full cycle accounting

•Reconciliations, review expense reports

•Aid in the month-end and year - end close process

•Generate balance sheet reconciliation and create accompanying schedules for audit/month end and annual close

•Reconcile trial balance monthly and recommend revisions to journal entries in accordance with company standards

•Prepare necessary documentation for both positive pay and ACH fraudulent transactions.

•Process Bi-monthly payroll and retirement plans

•Manage federal compliance across payroll payment and multi-state withholding

•Prepare payroll journal entries

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance
1-3 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced environment
Strong comprehensions of GAAP principles and IRS regulations for non-profit organizations
