Job Summary:


Reports to:

Health Director.


Supervision Exercised:

None.


Essential Job Functions:


  • Prepares correspondence, budgets, contracts, reports, forms, assessments, implementation plans and surveys.
  • Assures that record keeping requirements are met.
  • Prepares and approves expenditures for program services, assuring that expenses are accurate and in accordance with contractual limitations.
  • Develops and implements corrective action plans as necessary, especially if the number of clients served or services being performed are less than what has been established by contract with the State.
  • Speaks to community groups upon request and develops news articles, flyers or other marketing efforts to encourage program participation.
  • Coordinates and presents workshops designed to educate the public on tobacco use prevention and other issues defined by the grant program.
  • Interprets program goals while monitoring compliance with state, federal, local policies and procedures, regulations and division rules.
  • Answers questions and provides information to the public.
  • Develops, plans and implements and evaluates community health education and prevention programs.
  • Compiles, analyze data and prepare reports.
  • Conducts community outreach services to include preparing articles and providing interviews with the media.
  • Participates in community task forces/committees and special events.
  • Supervises and coordinates with administrative staff.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Works with local schools to help educated Youth about dangers of Tobacco.
  • Supervises local Youth for Tobacco STARS program.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


Knowledge of:

  • Eligibility requirements and available benefits, laws, regulations and contractual requirements pertaining to assigned Health Programs.
  • Public assistance health programs, i.e., Medicare, AHCCCS, Kids Care, etc.
  • Medical and pharmacology terms.
  • County policies, procedures, and organization.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel and other related software.

Ability to:

  • Conduct assessments and surveys, tabulate the results and develop implementation plans to improve health outcomes.
  • Handle public relations problems in a courteous and tactful manner.
  • Meet deadlines.
  • Plan and carry out duties without close supervision.
  • Comprehend complex verbal and written instructions.
  • Make independent decisions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff members, representatives of other agencies, and the public.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Minimum Qualifications:


Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:


  • Involves moderate lifting of 25 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Pay:
$42,763.00 per year
